The following pictures are of 3 live gas connections (hot tapping or under pressure drilling). A process where a branch connection is weldeded to a live gas or heating main and a isolation valve attached before a specially designed drill rig is attached to the valve. The pipe is then drilled through the valve to the maximum allowable size. This allows the branch connection to be made with out interruption to the mains supply.
